Safety doesn’t happen by accident; thus, it takes some time to learn first aid because it saves lives. First aid is not for specific people or careers but everyone and everywhere. You have witnessed various injuries, minor illnesses and situations that require a first aider or immediate attention before the arrival of a medical unit. Knowing how to handle an emergency can be satisfying and important for anyone. Providing a healthier and safer environment is the employer’s responsibility, but learning first aid at the workplace becomes a responsibility of every individual. ILC assists you by offering TQUK’s Level 3 Award Emergency First Aid at Work necessary for SIA. In 2021, First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) has made Emergency First Aid at Work necessary for Security Industry Authority license.
Besides SIA licensing requirements, Emergency First Aid at Work is for everyone, and every individual should be able to handle emergencies. Inspire London College is offering learners a golden opportunity for Level 3 Award Emergency First Aid at Work Training by considering the necessity of emergency first aid at work. Learners will have the knowledge and skills required to provide Emergency First Aid in an occupational setting in a prompt, safe and effective manner to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations. The qualification objectives include supporting a role in the workplace and giving learners personal growth and engagement in learning. The qualification is usually delivered as a one-day programme of training and assessment for learners in work or preparing to work to be first aiders in the workplace.
If used to meet HSE requirements, this qualification is valid for three years, after which learners will need to repeat the qualification. It is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually. The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) meets The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 regarding First Aid at Work.
TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
This Emergency First Aid at Work training is focused on the role and responsibilities of a first aider and the assessment of the incident. Further, the unit will elaborate on providing first aid in different emergency situations like choking, external bleeding, shock, minor injuries and unresponsive causality.

On completion of this qualification, learners should be able to
Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
Be able to assess an incident
Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

There are no specific entry requirements for First Aid at Work. However, learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

• Learners who have a genuine desire to succeed
TQUK’s Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) should be assessed according to UK’s currently recognised first aid practices. Following practical assessment will be taken, and Trainer will observe the practical demonstration of learners.
A theoretical assessment in MCQs will be taken, and the learner will need to answer all the questions.
It’s legal compliance on employers to have first aid provisions for employees. In this context, the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is suitable for all individuals either working or intended to work in any organisation.
Secondly, following FAIB guidance, the individuals from the SIA industry, such as Door Supervisors or Security Officers, should take this qualification because it will make them eligible for an SIA license.
Individuals interested in first aid can also take this course to upgrade their skills and knowledge of first aid. Some of the progression routes after taking this qualification are Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Award in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation and Meets the requirements of the SIA Course, Door Supervisor
Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will get an Ofqual Regulated Certificate (Hardcopy OR PDF) from TQUK, an Ofqual Regulated Awarding Organisation.
