Course Outline

Learners are required to complete six units to achieve the 60 credits required to gain the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Learners studying for the Diploma in Health and Social Care will be expected to develop the following skills during the programme of study:

  1. The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a complete and critical understanding of the ability to think independently and solve problems
  2. Apply subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
  3. Recognise the moral and ethical issues of health and social care practice and research, appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.

  5. Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject maturely and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists

Requirements

For Qualifi Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, learners must fulfil the following requirements:

  • qualifications at Level 2 and/or;
  • work experience in the health and social care sector and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals;
  • a Level 3 qualification in another discipline and want to develop their health and social care careers.
  • The learner must be aged 18 or above
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • Learners wishing to study and are non-native English speakers must have a minimum level of English language competency*
  • Sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria

Who is This Course For?

Learners completing the QUALIFI Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care can progress to:

  • the QUALIFI Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or
  • the first year of undergraduate study in health and social care; or
  • directly into employment in an associated profession.

Assessment

All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by Qualifi Ltd. The qualifications are criterion referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

The Assessor judges that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.

Accreditation

This Qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its own unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. Each unit with the Qualification has its own RQF code. The QAN for this Qualification is as follows:

What is QUALIFI?

QUALIFI is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) with a reference number RN5160. Ofqual is responsible for maintaining standards and confidence in a wide range of vocational qualifications, whereas QUALIFI has a duty of care to implement quality assurance processes.

Certification

Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will get an Ofqual Regulated Certificate (Hardcopy) from Qualifi Ltd, an Ofqual Regulated Awarding Organisation.
