The Qualification of Level 3 Diploma in Business Management is developed for the individual looking to enter the business management sector or already working in the business-related field. The Qualification is meant to equip learners with new skills and qualities in both academic and professional development. The program will enable the learners to unlock their potentials and that of organisations in a broad range of sectors. This recognised business management qualification aims to develop the skills of an individual which are required by organisations globally.

The programme provides an opportunity for individuals to develop a career in business by seeking greater knowledge and understanding of the industry. The course aims to:

  • Equip learners with the understanding, knowledge and skills required for employment in the business management sector
  • Enable progress the related professional Qualification or first year of the degree program
  • Enable the learner to work in a diverse environment with good practice by using the skills and knowledge gained in this Qualification

Develop skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life and thereby enabling learners to make an immediate contribution to employment

Outline

The Diploma is accredited at Level 3 with a total equivalence of 60 credits. The learners are required to complete 4 mandatory units and any two from the optional units. Total Qualification Time (TQT*) for each unit is 100 hours which also incorporates 65 Guided Learning Hours (GLH**).

Learning Outcomes

Learners studying for the Diploma in Business Management will be expected to develop the following skills during the programme of study:

  • The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding of the ability to think independently and solve problems
  • Apply subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
  • Recognise the moral and ethical issues of business practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct

Requirements

The Qualification has been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression. For entry to the Qualification, learners will be expected to hold the following:

  • Solid knowledge of the English Language
  • Be age 16 years or above
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • qualifications at Level 2 and/or;
  • work experience in a business environment and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals;
  • Level 3 qualification in another discipline and want to develop their careers in business management.

Who is this course for?

The Qualification is suitable for part-time learners in the workplace but equally appropriate for full-time learners who can also participate in formal work placements or part-time employment. Learners can progress into or within employment in the business sector, either directly on the achievement of the awards or following further study to QUALIFI Level 4 Diploma in Business Management.

This Qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its own unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. Each unit with the Qualification has its own RQF code. The QAN for this Qualification is as follows:
