The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification aims to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career or further study in the health and social care sector at a managerial level. The programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work or training activities.

The Level 5 units allow learners to progress in specific subject occupational areas. Learners will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in effective partnership working, managing the care of vulnerable individuals, team management, professional supervision practices and how to complete a research project.

Completing this qualification will equip learners with industry-specific and practical skills, enabling them to successfully apply their knowledge in the workplace, enhance their career prospects and allow progression to study further.

Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care represents practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competencies assessed academically as equivalent to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.

Course Outline

The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification consists of 5 mandatory units, 120 credits, 1000 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), and the recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is a minimum of 500 hours.

Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care is designed for learners aged 18 and above. The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:

  • Learners who possess Qualifications at Levels 3 and/or 4;
  • Learners who have work experience at a managerial level and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals;
  • Learners who possess a first degree in another discipline and want to develop their careers in health and social care or business
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • Learners wishing to study and are non-native English speakers must have a minimum level of English language competency*
  • Sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria

Who is This Course For?

Completing the Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care provides learners with the opportunity for various academic progressions, including the Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

As Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) approves and regulates this qualification, learners are also eligible for direct entry into Year 3 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.


All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by Qualifi Ltd. The qualifications are criterion referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

The Assessor judges that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.


The Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. In addition, each unit with the qualification has its RQF code. The QAN for this Qualification is as follows;

What is QUALIFI?

QUALIFI is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) with a reference number RN5160. Ofqual is responsible for maintaining standards and confidence in a wide range of vocational qualifications, whereas QUALIFI has a duty of care to implement quality assurance processes.

Inspire London College Offers RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) Qualifications from Ofqual Regulated awarding body Qualifi Ltd as the satellite centre of UKPDA.


Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will get an Ofqual Regulated Certificate (Hardcopy) from Qualifi Ltd, an Ofqual Regulated Awarding Organisation.

If you wish to receive your Certificate and Transcript by special courier, i.e., DHL, there will be an extra cost of £40 (International).
