Learn Construction Safety Essentials and Take Your First Step Toward a CSCS Green Card.
The Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course introduces the essential safety knowledge needed for construction work. It is designed for individuals new to the industry or preparing to start on-site. The course explains common construction hazards, including heavy lifting, dangerous machinery, working at heights, exposure to hazardous materials, and extreme weather conditions. It also covers safe working practices and basic risk assessments to help learners understand how to protect themselves and others on site.
Looking for flexible training that fits around your schedule? This online course is designed to suit both full-time learners and those working alongside their studies. It includes 2 hours of guided learning, delivered through clear and engaging video content. The course focuses on essential health and safety knowledge without unnecessary detail. This flexible approach allows learners to study at their own pace while gaining practical understanding for safe work on construction sites.
Employers in the construction industry expect workers to hold recognised health and safety qualifications, such as the CSCS Green Card, to ensure safe working on-site. The CSCS Green Card proves that you have basic knowledge of construction site safety and understand your responsibilities as a site operative. It helps employers trust that workers understand health and safety rules, can work safely and responsibly, reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, and meet legal and site-entry requirements. Holding a Green Card also helps ensure construction sites meet industry standards and that workers are properly protected.Â
By completing this course, learners gain confidence to work safely on construction sites. It helps them recognise hazards, carry out basic risk assessments, and follow safe working practices. The course also supports progression towards meeting CSCS Green Card requirements. It is suitable for new entrants preparing to work on construction sites. The course also suits existing workers who want to improve their safety knowledge. This allows learners to meet employer expectations and site entry rules.
