Course Outline

The NOCN Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities is an 18 credit qualification with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 180 hours, including 156 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). Learners must achieve all 18 credits from the 6 mandatory components.

Requirements

For the NOCN Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities  (RQF), learners must fulfil the following requirements:

  • There are no specific entry requirements.
  • The learner must be aged 16 or above
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • Learners wishing to study and are non-native English speakers must have a minimum level of English language competency*
  • Sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria

Who is This Course For?

This qualification is designed for;

Progression

Achievement of this qualification confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Gain employment in the workplace where the learner may work with or interact with individuals with learning disabilities. This qualification is most suited to those roles in the social care sector, but could also be applied to educational or health-related careers.
  • Progress on to Level 3 study.
  • Progress to a Level 3 apprenticeship.

Assessment

All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by NOCN. The qualifications are criterion-referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.
The Assessor judges that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.

Accreditation

This Qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its own unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. Each unit with the Qualification has its own RQF code. The QAN for this Qualification is as follows:

NOCN is an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation, providing a wide range of vocational qualifications to FE Colleges and private training providers.

Certification

Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will receive an Ofqual-regulated certificate (soft copy/scanned version) issued by NOCN, which is included in the course price.

If you require a hard copy certificate, an additional fee of £25 will apply. This covers standard postal charges.

For faster delivery, you may choose to have your certificate and transcript sent via special courier (e.g., DHL). This service incurs an additional cost of £40, which applies primarily to international deliveries.

Note: It is not mandatory to select the courier service for delivery. We provide this special courier option for your convenience because standard posts take longer (3-4 weeks).
