Learners are required achieve the 58 credits required to gain the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF) 14 mandatory units will count for 39 credits and additional 19 credits must be achieved from optional units.

Requirements

For iCQ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (England) learners must fulfil the following requirements.

  • Learner must be employed or working as a volunteer in a health and social care organisation for real-work assessments.
  • Have work experience in the health and social care sector and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals.
  • Possess a Level 2 qualification in another discipline and wish to transition into or advance their health and social care career.
  • Be aged 19 or above.
  • Have a good understanding of ICT.
  • Non-native English speakers must demonstrate a minimum level of English language competency.*
  • Show sufficient capability to meet the learning and assessment criteria at the appropriate level.

Assessment

iCQ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (England) is designed for an easy and smooth career progression for people working or interested in health and social care sector. All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by iCQ. To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

The qualification develops competence therefore learners must be in paid or voluntary work to enable assessment to take place. Assessments are divided into two categories; knowledge and understanding, and demonstration of practical skills.

For knowledge-based assessment criteria, learner will submit written assignment; while for demonstration-based assessment criteria real-work assessment will be exercised.

Considering that the qualification requires assessment of both competence and knowledge, the blend of the following assessment methods will be used to assess iCQ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (England).

  • Written assignments and coursework
  • Having a manager or colleague complete a witness testimony of tasks completed in a workplace
  • Direct observations of you carrying out work-related tasks*
