Requirements

To enrol in the iCQ Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate, learners must meet the following requirements

  • Learner must be employed or working as a volunteer in a health and social care organisation for real-work assessments.
  • Have work experience in the health and social care sector and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals.
  • Possess a Level 2 qualification in another discipline and wish to transition into or advance their health and social care career.
  • Be aged 19 or above.
  • Have a good understanding of ICT.
  • Non-native English speakers must demonstrate a minimum level of English language competency.
  • Show sufficient capability to meet the learning and assessment criteria at the appropriate level.
    These criteria ensure that learners are well-prepared to succeed in the course and in their future roles within the adult social care sector.

Who is This Course For?

This qualification is ideal for non-regulated care staff who wish to formalise their skills and knowledge for various adult social care roles or progression within the field.

Assessment

All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by iCQ. The qualifications are criterion referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

This is an occupational, competence-based qualification. Assessment for skills-based Learning Outcomes will be conducted in a real work environment. Knowledge-based outcomes will be assessed in the form of written assignments away from the work environment. All learners are expected to prepare a Portfolio of Evidence which will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Inspire Learner College.

Considering that the qualification requires assessment of both competence and knowledge, the blend of the following assessment methods will be used to assess iCQ Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.

  • Written assignments and coursework
  • Having a manager or colleague complete a witness testimony of tasks completed in a workplace
  • Direct observations of you carrying out work-related tasks*
  • Professional discussions over the phone
  • Providing work product evidence

An assessor will visit for the practical assessment, and you may be charged additionally for any special arrangements.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

Accreditation

This Qualification has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework and has its own unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. Each unit with the Qualification has its own RQF code. The QAN for this Qualification is as follows:

iCQ is an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation, providing a wide range of vocational qualifications to FE Colleges and private training providers. iCQ is an Awarding Organisation recognised by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) in England.

Certification

Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will receive an Ofqual-regulated certificate (soft copy/scanned version) issued by iCQ Awards, which is included in the course price.

If you require a hard copy certificate, an additional fee of £25 will apply. This covers standard postal charges.

For faster delivery, you may choose to have your certificate and transcript sent via special courier (e.g., DHL). This service incurs an additional cost of £40, which applies primarily to international deliveries.
