Overview

In a care setting, how we deal with information can affect our relationships with the people we serve. We must handle information confidentially and in a way that respects each person’s dignity. It’s important to know that not all personal details are relevant, and we should only use what’s necessary to keep the people we care for safe in their homes.

When working in a care setting, it’s important to build positive relationships with those we care for. Keeping information private and handling it correctly is key to creating trust. If a person feels their information isn’t treated properly, they might not share important details with their caregiver. This can be risky, especially when caring for vulnerable individuals like children or the elderly. People may avoid talking about issues at home, making their situation worse. Did you know that more than 60% of complaints in healthcare come from problems with communication and keeping information private? To protect your organisation’s reputation, sign up for our course on Confidentiality in a Care Setting today. Don’t let mistakes in talking and handling data harm your organisation’s image.

Throughout this course, you will understand the basic idea of keeping things private, especially in health and social care. We will explore why confidentiality is so important. You’ll also get to know the main principles of keeping things private, like telling the person using the service, getting their permission, letting them access their information, and only sharing it when needed. We’ll cover how to keep things private by handling information securely, sharing it with family caregivers, and making decisions for adults who might not be able to make their own choices.

Upon successfully completing this course, you will get a CPD Accredited Certificate of Completion. All you need is a strong internet connection, digital device, or mobile phone. So what are you waiting for? Enrol in this course now and start learning instantly!
