On successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Know the theories, principles and models in early learning and childcare such as learning relation, communication, assessment, curriculum development and evaluation and how to apply them to your own practice.

Course Outline

The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Early learning and Childcare has 10 units in total. Learners must complete all mandatory units to achieve 96 credits and then choose a minimum of 24 credits from the optional units. A minimum of 120 credits must be achieved and 100 hours of teaching practice.

Requirements

Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare is designed for learners aged 18 and above. The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:

  • Qualifications at Level 3 and/or 4;
  • work experience at a managerial level in child care and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals;
  • Learners who possess a first degree in another discipline and want to develop their careers in Early Year Education and Child Care.
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • Learners wishing to study and are non-native English speakers must have a minimum level of English language competency*
  • Sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria

Who is This Course For?

This aim of this course is to support leadership and management skills in early years and the knowledge and skills relating to early years practice. It is also suitable for those individuals already working in early years sectors in a managerial role and those individuals who wish to develop their career or enhance their understanding through professional development. Individuals undertaking this qualification would be working in various job roles such as manager, deputy managers, Supervisor or leader with designated areas. 

Assessment

All units are internally assessed by Inspire London College and externally verified by Qualifi Ltd. The qualifications are criterion-referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

The Assessor judges that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.

Accreditation

This Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare has been accredited to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and has its unique Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN). This number will appear on the learner’s final certification document. In addition, The QAN for this Qualification is as follows;
